Anissa Michaud

Occupational Therapist

Anissa Michaud finished her master's degree in occupational therapy from Montreal University in 2017. During her training, she had the opportunity to do internships in various environments (private clinic, rehabilitation center for mood disorders, hand clinic, adapted school for autistic kids, etc.), which makes her a polyvalent therapist. She developed a special interest for mental health and health promotion through healthy life habits. She also accumulated various other experiences : yoga center manager, personal physical, dance, yoga and meditation training, founder president of a student association for well-being SOI - Le salon zen at Montreal University, etc.

Anissa has completed a training in yoga and therapy in May 2019, which brought her to use mindfulness in her treatments. She has good results with this approach, since it offers many tools for long term health for the clients.

Furthermore, her personal experience in yoga, mindfulness meditation and dance, which she has been practicing for over 10 years, complements well her expertise in occupational therapy. She uses it to initiate health promotion projects like a series of meditation at lunch time for the employees at la RessourSe rehabilitation center. Also, her experience at SOI - Le salon zen permitted her to explore different themes about well-being through reading, discussions and facilitation of various kinds of workshops : meditation, yoga, healthy cooking, mindful dance, etc.

Anissa joined the team at Physiothérapie du Plateau de la Capitale in May 2019. She develops rehabilitation programs in physical and mental health to bring the client to a healthier way of living and to a balanced occupational schedule. In addition to the clinical services, she can meet the clients at home or at their work place depending on their needs. Finally, she works in interdisciplinarity with other health professionals like physical therapists, social workers and psychologists.

Anissa is a member of the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec and can offer services in french and english.
